Over the years I have read some exceptionally intelligent and quite helpful comments on ET. There are a few here from whom I learn a lot, and whom I have no doubt make some serious money! I was a stocks trader back in the mid-90's, took a very long break from all markets focusing on a career, and now for the last 14 years I mostly am a futures trader. As most of you know, most futures traders fail miserably at it and few last long at all dealing with such leverage, fortunately I have. But not via stock indexes, which I do not like, and which have never at all aligned with my personality/background either. One of my degrees was in international economics, with a minor in business. I have also travelled to 32 countries, and in sum have a strong international perspective. I thus focus on Currencies Futures especially, but also Gold, a few Treasuries, and occasionally Bitcoin and related instruments. In other words, I focus on trading Money and the price of Money, in its various key forms. Via this focus I do well enough, and am focused on gaining further skill and eventually Mastery of my chosen niche. Overall I am quite pleased with this year.
Are you losing money year to date in 2024? not a well thought out question because. my wife bought a half quart of oat milk 6 months ago is was one forth of what it cost today. do you understand how fucked we are that something went up 4 times it's cost from 6 months ago? you can't make enough money to fight the inflation of goods/ the devaluation of the dollar / and the increased taxes. things will only change when bullets fly - this is how bad it is...
You're shopping in the wrong store(s). Gas under $3.00 groceries marginally higher than 6 months ago. IOW on the same trajectory it was 4 years ago and further back - now that OrangeMan's pandemic is in the rear view mirror - just like him.
i value my pocketbook more than i value any feelings - i will be just as cold when your type come begging...
