    Hey there SML.
I figure you gotta start somewhere and beating the index is a good start.
I think it's a reasonable goal and not that difficult to achieve although I hear that not many traders are able to do it consistantly.

As for getting rich, you been posting for 10years, are you rich yet?
I been beating the index most years, not always on the big up years but I limit my drawdown on the down years and I manage to fund my lifestyle and grow my networth with my trading. I don't gotta go to work.

  3. Limiting the drawdown on crash yearz is the only reason I ever tried swing trading, instead of just buying gold or the index. And of course, some Guru made it look easy!

  5. Hello deaddog,

Why should I waste my time trying to beat the index when I can just already be in the index, dollar cost averaging auto-pilot, millions in 20 years? Get rich quicker, dollar cost average 3x index fund auto-pilot, 10 years some more millions in the pocket.

    This stuff is easy man.

    Work smarter, not harder!!!!!!

  6. Hello Wide Tailz,

Do you know what a Pimp name Johnny G told me when I was 14 years old?

"You bet on one, you get none" :):)

This is why being poor for years in life has an advantage to be a master trader.

  7. You know, I finally think I began to realize this recently. It is easy, and simple!

All that calculus in college did a number on my brain. Common sense was the first to go.

  8. There is a lot of wisdom in surviving in a hostile environment. I'm glad you're pulling yourself out of all that with ES futures trading. I'm not brave enough for that kind of leverage, but I can see how powerful it can be if you're good. :)

  9. Hello Wide Tailz,

I understand what you mean. ES is not for everyone.

We all have to do what works for us.
