Are those who oppose outsourcing racist?

Outsourcing and Big Government are two reasons why WIN stands for "Work is Nonprofit". Another reason is that machines can do a better job than Americans typically...

I was involved in some outsourcing come to think of it. We built up a manufacturing plant in Taiwan. What we learned is that American workers don't do their job the same all the time and Chinese workers do. When we found a problem in Taiwan our guy there would investigate and find the source, tell them how to do it right and things would be fine from then on. With the Americans it was more like random stuff all the time. The Tiawan line was up to speed in relatively short time and probably exceeded the quality of the American one eventually, I didn't stick around to find out because it dawned on me that Work is Nonprofit and I quit that s%^t... never liked work at all anyhow...

what do mean the productive output hasn't changed? of course it will. in your example the co. has saved $3000. they can more than double output and still lower prices or they can use the money for other projects. it is win win for everybody except for these particular american workers.

    Four quick thoughts:

    1. Racism is wrong.

    2. This is a dumb thread.

    3. If you are black and you prefer chocolate ice cream, are you a racist? (Hey...Makes as much sense as this thread.)

    4. If you are white and you prefer vanilla ice cream, are you a racist? (Hey...Makes as much sense as this thread.)

  4. The current model for globalization has very little in common with free markets and in fact resembles feudalism more than anything else. As I am an individual who feels open markets have much to offer, yes, I have a strong negative emotional reaction to "outsourcing" as it is currently practiced.

However it has nothing to with anyones skin tone.

  5. Traditionally 90% of the monetary exchanging happened locally.

    Cash Paycheck
    Pay butcher
    Pay Bar Tab
    Pay Grocer
    Pay Drug Store
    Pay Strippers

Life was good. Everyone knew everyone and established life long business.

Than the Walmart's rolled in undercutting and driving smaller businesses out.

Consumer saved a littleWalmart got big and hired competitors to be door greeters for $8/ hour.

The Internet took this to the next level.

    States lost sales tax revenue
Money transacted outside of local market.
Money transferred outside of the country.

    You get laid off...

You know the economy is totally fucked when strippers get laid off.

  7. I admire and support what India and China are doing. They are battling the once mighty USA and winning.

The USA is currently grieving for its loss of economic power and is in economic turmoil as a result of the incompetent financiers on Wall Street. After the grieving process, the USA must recognise that this century will belong to the great Eastern civilizations.

The USA was once a great power, but all things must come to an end. The end is nearly there. The USA must learn to be polite to the East, and should certainly withdraw her troops from her futile, pathetic and globally frowned upon wars. The USA should also seek to invest more in its poor educational system, and not rely on a handful of Ivy League elite -- who will do little more than end up as destructive Wall Street financiers.

With the USA now virtually out of the way, the prospects for a peaceful and prosperous 21st century are there.

I am filled with optimism for the world, a world based on equality not division, peace not war, good not evil. Politics and economics are inseparable, and the politics of the world will be fully reflective of the shift of economic power from the incompetent to the successful.

I pray for an America that will step aside gracefully, rather than start more wars in an attempt to impress the world -- a world that, with the exception of a handful of lapdogs, is not impressed but instead rather pitying of the USA.

    Long live capitalism.

It's not so simple. So racism is wrong? Ok then, why is it ok to crack jokes about blondes, and definitely NOT ok to make jokes about black people? Why would most people (Americans) agree that everyone in the world deserves human rights and enough food/clean water to live but somehow people in the West have more of a right to be computer programmers, lawyers and doctors?

Your last two points are utterly ridiculous. If you think people who are the same race or nationality as yourself have more of a right to professional jobs, then that's got sod all to do with ice cream flavours.

  9. To think people who are the same race or nationality are "more equal" than others, then you are by definition racist. Unless of course you can answer why this is so without claiming that one race or nationality is superior by genetic decree.

And before you trot out Al Sharpton or La Razza, racism is not confined to white people alone.

Uh...Where did I say that people who are the same race as me have more of a right to professional jobs?

I live in the USA. Where do you live?

Like I said; this thread is dumb; but, obviously good fun.

P.S.---Would you be offended if someone told a "blonde" joke on this thread? Are blondes now a protected class?
