Are there market makers in ES futures?

If yes, how do they trade? Do they trade directionally? Are they always profitable?

 

you, me, and everyone else is a market maker in the ES futures. if you mean is there someone obligated to provide bids/offers at a decent spread and gets order flow then ,no.

Do you even know what a market maker is?

 

I think there are large traders who play market maker at certain times of the day sitting on both sides with large size.
