Are Ted Cruz and Josh’s Political Careers destroyed?

  1. G. Gordon Liddy rebuilt himself and Chuck Colson too. Colson converted and developed a prison ministry and Radio personality for Evangelicals for his role in Watergate. Liddy got a show like Savage on AM radio.

Trump is the self appointed leader of an insurgent party. He holds Republicans in Congress in a grip of fear. They are fearful that he will ruin their political careers if the do not show obeisance to him because he controls a critical sub-constituency of the Republican party. If he is removed from office, he will go on as the leader of the insurgent movement built on fabricated lies. However if he is convicted in the Senate he will be forever barred from holding any Federal office in the future. He'll be politically emasculated. That won't end Trumpism, but it could save the GOP.

The current impeachment results will determine what form the Republican Party takes in the future. If Trump is not removed from office, the Republican party, as we have known it in the pre-Trump era, is finished for the foreseeable future, otherwise, with Trump side-tracked, it can re-emerge under new leadership. Thus I see this Senate vote coming up as really being a vote about the future of the Republican Party. A Republican party that currently harbors white nationalists and QAnon adherents might be able to hang on to the name "Republican," with a politically viable Trump at its helm, but it would in reality become a splinter party with no future in a two party system other than playing the role of spoiler. Fortunately there are two few willing to actively join the insurgency for it to succeed by violent means. But there are enough to succeed in splitting the Republican party provided Trump remains politically alive.

The best thing for the Republican party would be to dump Trump NOW and end his reign of fear. I expect McConnell is fully aware of this.

I think the stress of all this, the job itself plus all the negative review he's going to see for the rest of his life, I think it will kill him sooner than later. I can almost see the arterial inflammation and plaques racing through him as a result. Not a daring prophecy, I know, given his age and lifestyle.

  5. Why I left the Evangelicals, Mickey if you dont mind taking a second ,Google their apologist Ravi Zacharias. The BOD of his ministry released a damming internal investigation around Dec 31st. Ted Cruz learned from the best, lying about the Election was plain evil.

Some people are built to run on bullshit. I think he's one of them.

Some people can grow old all while drinking, smoking, eating junk food, and being always stressed and amped up.

  8. Josh and Ted made a deal with a devil, unfortunately it was one who does not live up the bargain. In high school my history teacher argued “Nixon was set up by the Republicans”. Nothing the class said would make budge, so it’s a sign Trump will have supports fifteen years after a Double Cheeseburger Impeachment?
