are divergences really worth anything?

I take it that NihabaAshi's offer doesn't appeal to you? If not, what do you want?

  2. The charts were posted as a series as they occurred. The series has ocurred and is history. The series unfolded and the strategy associated with it was fulfilled. I noted this to try (and I was unsuccessful) to allow you to move off the place you continue to prefer to hold down.

No body cares about hindsight. Who would have a reason to care.

Also the crow crap is just that. Why put it on your table?

You have a challenge. It is ........ (See above).

Let's say that 100 people meet your challenge. They will, of course, since they do everyday day in day out. I can't suppose for a minute you will be following any of them because they simply do not care to report to you. The 100 is a very very small sample as well.

Do not just sense that you are playing in a field of randomness. You are fertilizing it too. Choosing to not move out is a drama you choose to run day after day. Bring the curtian down and consider writng a new script for the new found energy you would have available.

I do not use divergence as a key thing personally. I have used it for about 47 years as a minor ever present adjunct to big time stuff that I regard as important. I only say the word aloud to others about 20 to 30 times in an hour of narration.

Many many people use divergence all over the place and in many ways. Print some of the charts referred to here.

You can get beyond BE in one fell swope (crow terminology). avail yourself to the energy you have all tied up in inconsequential stuff you expect others to give you or you take from them.

I ask you to assess your environment and determine what you want to have instead. after you get that defined, acept it. and move on. Bingo.

Divergence is working all over the place. Let it go at that. Make some money instead.

I am fully prepared to eat crow this week if I am shown the light, and I will report back here in due time.

I was hoping for crow teryaki, but I've since learned that NihabaAshi isn't really Japanese. A shame. Reportedly he lives in French Canada, and God only knows how they eat crow up there. Probably Le Crow Crepes with a baquette?

  5. Price vs another price, or sub-set of that price; I don't believe watching indicators will reveal anything you cannot see from the actual source itself.

    Quote from NihabaAshi,

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will repeat this over and over and over again...

if your testing or trading divergence via price and indicator alone without seeing the bigger picture via some other confirmation...

your exposing yourself to many problems with the divergence signals

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You are making a lot of sense and using it effectively. Would you like to share some of your expertise on the subject?

Not asking for any secrets but just some food for thought in general terms.

    (1) What indicators do you use to look for divergence ( I mean CCI, MACD----etc? )

    (2) How do you determine the indicator length for a particular time frame like 5 min chart or daily chart? ( I mean 6 or 14 or 20 ----etc? )

    (3) What other confirming theories do you use along with divergence ( I mean Elliott, Gann, support-resistance-----etc? )

    (4) Do you use divergence for Stocks, Futures, or Indices?

    (5) What time frames do you trade the divergences?

Hope I have not asked the wrong questions. If I did please note that, that was not my intention. Just would like to learn from Pros.

    Thank You,
    Aston

I posted a +convergence chart on the 09 Sept 2003 section of my T-REX Journal. I also posted a negative divergence chart as well and since the mkt has been under selling pressure.

    It does work.

  8. ==================================

    Momentum in any time frame tends to get you out too early but with slippage in your favor;

occasionaly glance on it anyway during a bear market when you get a unusual % gift on you stock price.

Moving averages are much more of a friend like trend to me.

After spending a couple days in a divergence chat room, and after doing more of own research and backtesting further, I am warming the oven for a crow dinner. Divergence in particular cases is a valid strategy.

I could only find some roadkill near my home. But I did promise....

    SQWAK SQWAK SQWAK...

....damn. I thought he was dead.
