    perhaps it is due to killing fields and those things.
    so many innocent people were killed.
    and the whole world and most powerful nations couldn't stop it.

    now innocent Cambodian citizens cannot be traders.

    INTERESTING, I noticed the overkill pattern also;
    but it was on cuba, cambodia...... not so much on AMP.
    WITH only certain cities excluded in Ukraine, sounds like they are wanting business , within certain guidelines. Like the French say -merci.

    That is so weird. How are you going to determine nationality based on cities?? LOL Now we are working on Citalities? LOL If they really want business, they should just work with the sanctioned list from the US government and that sanctioned list is only at the national level. As far as I can tell, Ukraine is not on the sanctioned list. It's a NATO country. Anyway it's AMP's business.

    The cities in Ukraine from this list that I recognise or could quickly find on a map seem to be in the Crimea - annexed by Russia in 2014. The area's legal status is unclear. Residents of other areas of Ukraine are not excluded from applying for an account.

    Crimea is not part of Ukraine anymore. They voted to be independent with a referendum long time ago and has already been annexed to Russia. It's part of Russia now and Russia is not on that AMP list either. So either way, apps from those cities should be accepted. Dunno why they are on that list.

    The west does not recognise the annexation of Crimea into Russia as being a legitimate act.

    Russia say it was legal. to be fair, they are backed up by Cuba.......

    Yeah but Russia is not on the sanctioned list of countries either so whether Crimea is part of Ukraine or Russia should see applications from that region accepted by AMP if anybody from there really applies to AMP for an account.

    No, Russia is not red-listed, as it is a legally constituted and internationally recognised state. Neither is the remainder of Ukraine red-listed, for the same reasons.

    But Russian-controlled Crimea is not a separate country and is no longer part of Ukraine. The international community mostly do not regard the annexation of Crimea in 2014 as legally based and therefore the area has no legal status. Right now in this regard, the potential clients in Crimea who want an account are being treated as if they are without an address: in legal terms they are address-less.

    One day one of three things will happen - 1) either Crimea will re-join Ukraine or 2) it will be recognised as part of Russia: in both cases all parts of Crimea will be open to trading. Option 3) is that Crimea will become an independent state, not part of either Ukraine or Russia: at that point it will be up to the US government whether and when it wishes to recognise this new state: if it does it might or might not be red-listed.

    Crimea is in a transitory position. There's nothing to be gained by rushing to de-list it.

  9. Rather, it's the list of shitty AMP countries. How did they manage to accept Eritrea?

    It is weird that Russian is not on the fully banned shitlist but Crimea is.

    Maybe they are punishing Crimea for voting to be part of Russia in that referendum they had after russia invaded.
