Maybe my math is wrong. Apple is going to pay out 2.65 a share dividend. Is this 2.65 a quarter for a total of 10.6? If so, since apple constitutes 4.43% spy, then they will contribute an extra 44 cents a year to spy or 11 cents a quarter. Something seems a bit off since that would be a nice boost to the spy yield. So is it 2.65 for the whole year divided in 4? Or 10.6 divided by 4 into 2.65 payments.
Wow so spy holders will get a nice boost in the dividend by 11 cents a quarter. Not bad. That means quarterly dividends will now average at least 72 cents a share for spy.
