Trump has a lengthy history of threatening American companies with tariffs to extract concessions from them. The track record of his threats is pretty much complete failure. His most laughable one was his recent threat to impose a 200% tariff on John Deere for moving a factory to Mexico. Deere noted that its manufacturing of large farming equipment remains in the U.S. -- and the factory in Mexico will manufacture small equipment which is generally sold outside the U.S., thus the 200% threatened tariff does not make the least bit of difference. Trump threatens Apple with tariffs. He has been making such threats since 2016. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trum...making-such-threats-since-2016-151849148.html
Let Americans buy iPhones and other phones at higher prices and make Trump happy. The other world will continue to buy at cheaper prices. Deal?
An iPhone built in the U.S. would cost $3500. Most Americans would simply drive over the border to Canada or Mexico to purchase an iPhone made in China or India for $1100. iPhone could triple in price to $3,500 if they’re made in the US, analyst warns https://www.cnn.com/2025/04/09/tech/apple-iphones-cost-tariffs-impact-intl-hnk?cid=ios_app
Apple's Tim Cook thought he had a Plan B for Trump's tariffs. It wasn't enough. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/appl...trumps-tariffs-it-wasnt-enough-173618492.html
l Those people who do that should be hung for treason. A phone should cost 3500. Poor Americans shouldn’t be able to afford one. It’s like health care. It should only be for the rich. Anything less is socialism.
too many Americans own dogs. We clearly don’t want to be like socialist Europe, so we should be like India and China where 80percent of the population can’t afford so much.
even nyt has a racist reporter, lol, next article the chinamen would have small d*cks Is Trump’s ‘Made in America’ iPhone a Fantasy? https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/23/technology/apple-iphone-trump-india-china.html What does China offer that the United States doesn’t? Small hands, a massive, seasonal work force and millions of engineers. Young Chinese women have small fingers, and that has made them a valuable contributor to iPhone production because they are more nimble at installing screws and other miniature parts in the small device, supply chain experts said.
