Pompeo is out with the justification for the strike. His only problem is the Trump administration has no credibility and the circumstances around a senate trial of Trump make all of this seem highly suspect. Many will grab on to that first paragraph and ignore the rest but it is also possible DoD, CIA and the White House had to make this move for one reason or another despite the optics. Either way, the whole thing is very cloudy right now. This move has spurred the State Department to issue an alert that ALL Americans should leave Iraq - which Iran is very grateful for. And now almost all government officials across the globe are potential targets. This all of course Trump’s fault. If he didn’t set his policies based on Obama jealousy the Middle East would be a much safer place. Now the question is 1. What will Iran do and 2. Is the Trump administration really ready to handle this situation?
Heh, you and your ilk are the folks who brought us Benghazi. That was about as clear an example of handling (not-handling rather) a situation in the field based on political goals and objectives as you can find. As long as you idiots are still stuck on stupid with Benghazi, don't even bother to lecture us on the current situation.
As was said, you don’t know what the motivation in targeting soleimani was and you're already on defense without even knowing what is actually going on. That’s a bad sign.
It's is sketchy as balls, though appears the guy traveled freely through Iraq (being neighbors and all), and Baghdad remains an international hub. Still doesn't explain his companions. I don't necessarily buy the bullshit the Pentagon is feeding us, but his pre-Trump transgressions are enough to have him dead. Question is, how is one general costing the lives of his enemies any different than another? And if we're cool taking out the lead command of proxy wars that have cost American lives, why not Target Saudi command, why not Target Russian command, Chinese command?
Yeah I heard something about this on Bloomberg this morning... they say this guy is different, he's not just a run of the mill "general". I didn't really pay attention but they were saying he sets policy and then there was something about religious doctrine or something. Who knows.
As everyone knows, Trump is an expert on the Revolutionary Guard. Trump's 'business ties' to Iran's Revolutionary Guards reemerge, a day after he designated it a terror group President's firm entered partnership with 'notoriously corrupt' official to build Trump Tower Baku https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...tower-baku-azerbaijan-sanctions-a8861736.html
