  3. That is correct. I have off on Mondays right now before my hours get changed. So my first posted results will either be this coming Monday or next.

Two very good comments, two very good suggestions. I will reopen aphie's thread and leave it in the Journals forum for now. Hopefully things will stay on-topic prior to him trading. If not, we'll move it to the Chit-Chat forum and if he chooses he can start a fresh trading journal thread.

  5. Thank you for re-opening my journal. I will be using it to paper-trade and display results for others to view. This is what others have been doing in other journals and I feel this would give people insight into my trading style.

Tomorrow, I will be papertrading ES and posting the results here. I am currently using PFG's simulator, but I also have my own that I can use for back-up.

I am also going to be giving weekly option plays (since I am very well versed in options).

Please keep this journal on topic and I will endeavor to provide everyone with an complete journal of my futures venture.

    Magna and Baron,

Thanks for your suggestions and help.

  6. My first papertrade will be an option. The option I will be purchasing is a strike $10 CALL on Oracle (ORCL).

The ASK price is currently .60 for the October CALL.

I doubt that this price will exist for very long due to the possible strong rally tommorow (Iraq agreement).

However, if it is possible to get it at this price, I have a target of $1.00 for this option within 2 weeks.

    Purchase
    ORQJB.X (Option Symbol) at .60

    Target
    2 weeks at $1.00

  7. Aphie,

Wat was the stock price when you did the option trade?........you should always note the price of the underlying when you report your deals.

GOOD LUCK! you're going to need it if you buy calls in this market

  8. Jolly,

The price per share of ORCL was $9.20. Unfortunately, there earnings weren't up to par with estimates. However time will tell if they recoup those loses. ORCL hasn't traded this low in a while.

  10. Not yet. I will wire the money tomorrow. I am going to use my autotrading program instead of IB's order-entry system. I am trying to work out all the little "bugs" that I can to at least get the shell of a system going for me.

I feel like I'm about to dive into the 9 foot section of the pool on a cold winter day.

The market is hitting new lows every day, too. I hope it doesn't snap when I put in my order -- and if it does, I sure as hell hope I'm short.

My one contract will probably be the straw that broke the camel's back.
