matrix1955 i think you have joined just as they are changing over their system of the IB office you will be assigned to - so that is more than likely the problem
matrix if they are signing you to london - you must be one of the first - maybe the first! - as they have only just started that phone IB and see if you can get someone to transfer you on the phone to the london office the london office is not new as they have had an office in the Uk for quite some time in order to handle institutional business - but obviously adding retail is causing them some problems
Anyone using Gelber, seems very cheap for large traders. Do they use internet or go direct to cme node? Gelber (Trading Technologies XTrader) emini commissions 0 to 2,500 = $1.00/side + fees 2,500 to 5,000 = $.70/side + fees 5,000 to 10,000 = $.40/side + fees 10,000+ = $.20/side + fees monthly minimum commission requirement $1500 account minimum $50,000 monthly software fee $750 (for one exchange and an additional $200/month for each exchange after that)
its not cheap - thats the level of fee you pay when you start hitting big volume tradeing small volume is expensive!
Sorry, I forgot to reply publicly. No, we have no plans of going to PFG. The CFO of RCG was over here today and from what I can tell they are fully commited to Pats and getting it "right." Keep in mind they have locals using it doing hundred lots and up who are on the same servers. We will see. Craig
craig, the locals must have direct connections, and probably use a high end trading platform and you can be pretty sure they are not gettting screwed around - RCG have a whole load of different entry points even if they are on the same servers - i bet they enter the chain later what do u think?
It is far beyond my imagination that professional traders will use a platform based on Microsoft´s Internet Explorer !
stevet and FX-Trader Any local who uses RCG and Pats is on the same servers as you and I are on. RCG only has one physical location for its servers for Pats. They are tied in a series so it is not like Refco where certain accounts login to assigned servers. (I am not a computer guy, so I do not know the correct jargon). Nothing against locals, but they are not computer savy indivduals. Most are old school with just a high school diploma. Don't be surprised that they are using Pats, whether you think it is sophisticated or not. Most people love it, plus there are very few alternatives. In fact, that is how Pats got its start, it was only for locals and instituitons. It wasn't until recently that it has been offered to individual traders. As far as it being a Microsoft IE product I am not sure what that means, but I think it would qualify as a Java product and not IE browser based platform. Craig
