"and their Revolution" --- are words that imply support for the Cuban Dictatorship, not for the protestors. Obviously you are reaching again.

nope, not really. Quit saying on one hand "the people are rising up against communism", and then on the other saying "they're upholding communist beliefs"

  4. Just because the government provides education and healthcare does not make it an example of a socialist regime. It was and always has been a dictator tied up in some false belief of a revolution for the poor against corruption. Castro entered Havana after the victory at Santa Clara and stole all the land and money he could, killed off anyone who might oppose him, appointed Che Guevara as Treasurer (really?) and lived a wealthy life while dividing what was left among the people. When Soviet Union collapsed, the country went into the shitter while Castro still had his compound and money and continued to shit on his people (Mariel Boatlift).

I love all the people in the U.S. government and GOP and Dems who claim to know what Cuba is throwing around words like socialism and they have never been there or studied its history. Also love how China is a global trade partner but we cannot ever support the cubans becaue of their great threat..... what a bunch of bullshit.

  5. Your guy is in the White House and your party is in power. Work it out with them.

Oh I see. Biden's press secretary said, a few days before the uprising, "Cuba is not a top priority." Okay, what kind of priority is it then? They were planning on and hope for Cuba to just sort of maintain the status quo because they have bigger fish to fry. Such as how to deal with the question of how to cozy up to/not cozy up to the Venezuelan government, and whether to engage with dictators in the northern triangle. Cuba is pretty much a republican thing in their mind and they just want Cuba to drift along being whatever they are not be a problem.

This little uprising there, however long it lasts, maybe hours or days, is actually a blessing for your cause because at least it gets it back on the burner for a while anyway. Otherwise your guys in DC just want it to go away and stop being a distraction.

  6. When was Cuba ever a priority for the Dems or Gop...

Seriously we have a State Department.....a president does not need to drop everything they are doing to handle a country. The executive branch is not micromanaged.

  7. Yeh, well live with it then if you think having just the state department grunts deal with it is the way to go. Howz that worked out for ya?

Also, a president, unless he is Joe Biden, should not have to "drop everything" to take a lead on the issue. And of course, we know that Kamala is overworked now even though no one has any idea what work she has done. Oh, I see. She did a hit and run visit to a couple countries and flopped there.

  8. That is my point....Biden can direct the State Dept and Congress can put together a delegation to handle this issue.... amazing how this is all on Biden who has been President for 7 months now and we just ignore the past 60 years...

AOC, Omar silent after Black Lives Matter voices support for Cuban regime
Black Lives Matter sparked backlash after posting statement praising Cuba's communist regime
    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/aoc-omar-black-lives-matter-cuba

Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Cori Bush of Missouri have yet to weigh in on Black Lives Matter declaring its support for Cuba's communist regime, even though the congresswomen have been vocal BLM supporters in the past.

Black Lives Matter sparked a backlash late Wednesday after posting a statement that blasted the U.S. embargo and praised Cuba's government.

"The people of Cuba are being punished by the U.S. government because the country has maintained its commitment to sovereignty and self-determination," the statement said. "United States leaders have tried to crush this Revolution for decades."

The statement also credited Cuba's government for "protecting Black revolutionaries like Assata Shakur," a convicted cop-killer who fled to Cuba after escaping from prison in 1979. BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors has repeatedly praised Shakur in the past.

Ocasio-Cortez and Omar are vocal supporters of BLM, while Bush was a BLM activist before joining Congress.
