The founding fathers did not envision political parties and despised them as parasites on the system. Unfortunately, they did not foresee the effect of political parties on the Electoral College. Keep the Electoral College, break up the parties.
There were whole Federalist Papers written about political parties, or what they called Factions at the time. Electoral College had nothing to do with parites, it was about representation between large and small states and more and less densely populated areas of the first States. Parties/factions present the same problem whether it is EC or popular vote.
You must be kind of slow or something like that... What I wrote was: "The point ist that there isn't a racist state, but there can be racist people(individuals), which are presente almost everywhere, but specially nowadays, they are always a miniscule group compared to the majority of people, regardless of party affiliation. These are people that always try to generalize and categorize people in groups and assume things about individuals based on party affiliation, geography, state, country, religion, etc... Take Nazis, for example, they hate all black people without knowing anything about black individuals(there are nice black people and there are horrible black people). There are also people in the US that say that just because someone is part of a political party, this makes them automatically racist or something horrible. According to your posts on this site, you are one example of these people. In other words, your flawed line of thinking regarding conservatives is a perfect analogy to the flawed line of thinking of nazis." You didn’t address any of the points I made here and you just to keep saying that there are racist states...(We all know that is your M.O., when you have no arguments to defend your point, you just repeat the same stupid idea as if this would somehow prove you're right). Not surprisingly, you just keep making shit up with no evidence whatsoever to back it up and simply run away when faced with facts and logic... But go ahead, put words in the mouth of people, just keep trolling and running away, not addressing any points people with different opinions pose to you, that's the only way to keep living in you fantasy leftist world.
Neo, Of all the posters on this site with the exception of exGoPer (if he is even still around) Tony Stark is the biggest paid shill of the Democratic Party on here. He parrots the talking points regularly - regardless of whether they make any sense or not.
You made no points. You keep claiming there is no racist states but the history of the confederate south clearly shows otherwise.Join Tugger Carlson in his fantasy there is no racism fantasy world.
Fair point, left that open though Madison, Hamilton and that other guy were just three of seven. M.... Jay and without google. Two parties however allow the EC to be rigged rather neatly, this will be aggressively done by one of them and responded in kind. "Men are naturally divided into two parties,'' he wrote, "those who fear and distrust the people and wish to draw all power from them into the hands of the higher classes [and] those who identify themselves with the people, have confidence in them, cherish and consider them as the most honest and safe, although not the most wise, depository of the public interests. In every country these two parties exist, and in every one where they are free to think, speak, and write, they will declare themselves. Call them therefore liberals and serviles...'' Jefferson. Acknowledging the problem was not endorsing two parties of course.
Washington was probably the first and last President who was not part of a party or at least (since many put him in the Federalist camp) focused on his term at being non-partisan with his divided cabinet. After that with Adams and then Jefferson it was full blown party politics and we never looked back since haha
Leaving aside the reality that AOC is, of course, correct, the question seems to have become: do we want to deteriorate into a democracy, such as India, where democracy has run amuck and stifled innovation and change, or remain the fascist nation the U.S. has evolved into and has become rather firmly anointed under "Il Duce" Trump's and Moscow Mitch's leadership. It's an unhappy choice. Perhaps there is something better in between.
Although Washington, the inveterate social climber, represented the moneyed class. About that there can be no question; he died the wealthiest man in America.
