Hey, with the current trend in real-estate bubble-popping as indicated by rising foreclosure-rates, excess inventory, longer times on market, dropping median-prices pretty much all over Cali (especially San Diego, S.B. and S.F.), is there a way to short real-estate properties?

Put an ad in the paper saying that you are building a hi-rise and selling units pre-construction. It's been done before.

  7. Yep they are new. I haven't had a chance to check volume. I think it was Pabst who earlier said these contracts wouldn't fly.

    But for regular retail traders....probably?

Anyways, now is not a good time to short real estate. I would wait until Dec.

IYR is the symbol for the real estate ETF. No uptick required.
