I replied to Joseph Broad and asked him " So nothing has changed but Craig doesn't work there anymore? He was the president of Apex was he not ? I got a reply back this morning stating the following. " Craig Ross was the president of Apex Futures but he sold the company in 2015. I have worked at Apex since 2012 and have been involved in the futures markets for the past 28 years. " That combined with the sanction [havent read it yet will next] I basically wanted a low commission with low intraday margins to add to my " regular trading / investing account. Thinkorswim is a good platform but you will pay for that and it adds up quick esp with futures unless your trading huge vol and work a lower commission deal with them. Thanks again for the info I am off to read the sanction and find another similar broker.
FYI... Apex Clearing IS NOT Apex Futures. FWIW, I had an Apex Futures account back in the days of Craig Ross. Craig was an upstanding person. At the time of Craigs' departure, OEC was becoming problematic for my way of trading. Craigs departure made my choice to move on and away from OEC very simple. Several futures-only brokers with good FCMs out there worthy of my partnership, OEC/Gain or one their IBs is not one. Happy Hunting.

As for Apex Futures, while others (e.g., tiddlywinks before Craig left) had a good experience with them, some of us have not. I found Craig very arrogant and sometimes difficult to deal with on relatively simple matters. There was info shared on another blog that echoed some of the negatives. I did like the OEC platform, so you might work with them directly. As tiddlywings said, Craig (the ex-president) is gone. Maybe the new guy is worth a try? Meanwhile, I'm looking for a better futures/options broker. I have some experience with Lightspeed, Interactive Brokers and AF, but can anyone opine on one with decent commissions, good platform for day traders and reasonable to work with? Thanks
