Massive disaster for me the last few days: seems to be a memory issue leak so my TWS will crash in this latest version (979.3) So I'm told - use a stable version. problem is it is 972.1 (It says Sep 2019 but it is much earlier than this) and this stable version does not support some API components that I use. Does anyone know a way to use a version that we were using prior to Monday (978+)? called the desk and they are useless.
Support told me there is no way to download the version before today's was released. Useless. On the offline site it should have a drop down list of versions that you can download.
Just figured out it is happening when I click on any of the options I am following in my quote monitor. Seems to cause the data outside of regular hours on my futures contracts charts to get unchecked. It doesn't uncheck it if I just go between futures.
Sounds bad. I use the oldest possible version of TWS. They literally have to threaten to come to my house or kill my account to get me to upgrade.
IB needs to make some recent older versions available (I don't mean ancient versions). Temporarily, you can take a look in your TWS directory. If you see version numbers there (I do), you can just launch an older version by modifying your shortcuts.
Oooh... Very cool. I'll give this a try later But won't it still be an "online" version and immediately try to update?
mskl, only way to get something that works without any breaking is to use STABLE version. Previously i had multiple incidents with their latest versions messing charts and etc. on MacBook ....so i went with STABLE one. For any S/W update there need to be a update release documentation as what they have updated. I find it difficult from IB to get such update release note.
