I don't believe the 700k - suicide guy had a "draw down". The story I read stated this young guy didn't have that much money. He should never have been in a position to lose 700k. It was implied that Robinhood gave him much more leverage/BP than he should have been given.
You are right. It wasn't a trader drawdown. Likely an unprepared new guy with stars in his eyes. Hard to blame the broker though for a bet gone wrong.
