Used Evernote in the past but it became a bit clumsy and I wasn't consistent with it. Roamresearch has a product that is interesting but before committing to yet another subscription, my search lead me to Notion. Recently came across this extremely flexible minimalist tool and looking for some templates for Trading - eg. position sizing, trade tracking, journaling and building a knowledge graph. Anyone have any templates willing to share? https://www.notion.so https://grid.is/ https://gridfiti.com/notion-tips-and-tricks/ https://www.noteapps.info/best_roam_research_alternatives_2022_personalized_ad_free
fwiw, I use obsidian and logseq. The graphing is a gamechanger for me. https://obsidian.md/ https://logseq.com/
Yeah, it's a compelling feature and the thing that doesn't have me pull the trigger on Notion. Thanks for the links, I'll check them out. edit: that logseq vid on the landing page is a great orientation to pkm. I enjoyed his metaphor of cultivating a knowledge garden vs building a second brain.
A reminder... YT has 100's of tutorials, tips&tricks, and this prog v that prog vids for all these apps and more!
Good comparison and contrast not based on features; https://axtonliu.medium.com/notion-...hich-one-is-better-for-book-note-ab042cdc52b5
You are so right, sooo much content. I downloaded both Obsidian and Notion, Obsidian is like an open slate and intimidating that way. Notion appears to have much more structure and has db features but also feels a bit more constrained. My goal is to have more a structured workflow and routine. My use of onetab as breadcrumbs isn't the best solution as a PKM and mindmaps aren't cutting it either. How do you use these tools that you have previously mentioned? These orientation type vids are helpful, do you have any channels or vids you could recommend?
Wow. The topic is so subjective. In my case, it is very difficult to find software of almost any type that works the way I think. Like in coding, not every coding language will be "best" for every task. Not every program/app will be "best" for every task either. I use Obsidian and logseq. I like/enjoy logseq more, it's "easier" imo, but the obsidian plugins make obsidian a must have. From time to time I will use a free old school hierarchical-tree program called CherryTree, with richtext features and objects. You already found ToolsOnTech, and here's a short list of channels I followed FOR THIS TOPIC, in no particular order. Note... YT caption feature can come in handy, just saying. Anyway, you just have to try things for yourself. The original Snuggie comes in one size fits all. Not true for apps! And there is A LOT of AWESOME free stuff out there! https://www.youtube.com/c/SantiYounger https://www.youtube.com/c/ToolsonTech https://www.youtube.com/c/FilipeDonadio https://www.youtube.com/c/ShuOmi_Official https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2niLMcD_kGsuDORWBFij4g -- not THIS TOPIC, but gives you a idea of how Im treating my current projects.
Thanks so much! All I can say is TGIA, ...it's August! Hope to have this locked down before volume picks up.
Hello Sprout, The volume in the markets is terrific. Loving it. I use a word document take notes everyday of what I want to write down. I stop journaling. The more journaling and planning I did the more I loss freedom to be myself in real time trading. It did not help. What helped was me having a simple 2 sentence trade method. Less is better. This way, I had nothing to journal cause there was nothing to say. The more simpler, the less work. no rules, so nothing to break. No discipline or mistakes issues because the trading plan is 2 sentences only.
