Yea I guess TWS is too heavy on the PC and need more PC power than other softwares to run the same things
Was hoping that you can tell us that via your own connections. What's your WiFi numbers while connected to TWS ??? What's your Ethernet numbers while connected to TWS ??? wrbtrader
I Have 100 Mbps down and up Fiber connection and Im hardwired into my router....no wifi. and I'll still get shit like show in the image (which I've showed to IB before). Its not an internet speed or hardware issue that stops charts from loading or loading slowly...its software/server issue.
Yes that is exactly what I get as well. It is really weird as sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't or sometimes it works but then a few seconds later it freezes again when you switch timeframes.
Yes, it is not a big deal. You can start with TWS reinstall first, but by the time you do it, and fiddle with it for an hour or two.... Probably get reasonable improvement. But a fresh install is always a good idea on a production machine. I do mine every 12 months at a minimum. Keeps me without problems for 25 years. Windows is not that robust but it is getting better and simpler to clean up-reinstall. Besides all it costs is time, but maybe you secretly want a new machine. Heck If you don't run a good SSD, install a new 256gb SSD and do a new Windows -TWS- Java install.
I do want a new machine haha I have a 128SSD but the PC is from my brother and its old and he used it for gaming so might as well get a new one old together. My CPU is intel i7-4820k which is released in 2013 I will look into formatting it though. Good idea Thanks for the reply and good trading to you !
