Anyone using a 4K Monitor to trade without using Font Magnification?

IB TWS allows font sizing, so it really is not an issue. I shrunk mine down act
Yep, but I did it anyways. Once rule I try to follow is anything I use a lot or do a lot, I go high quality.

How is the dot pitch on the TV? Can you use it OK being 18"-24 inches away? The 40" monitor is super crisp.

  2. Yes, dot pitch is just fine. With these new 4k TVs, the pixels are so small you can barely see them 10" away.

Used to be, "TV as monitor" might not necessarily be a good choice... pixel size and all. But today, no problem.

To effectively use 4K, physical size of monitor also needs to be big. 24 or 27 inch should be too small. I use 33 inch without adjusting font size and it's acceptable. 42 inch or bigger is preferable.

I dont use font enhancement. I like having as you say more screen 'real estate'

  5. U have to increase the font sizes or monitor resolution on any trading software platform if you are using 4K monitors. Otherwise the eye strain will be too great and your eyes will get fked up

  6. Increasing font size takes up only a tiny, tiny fraction of the "real estate".

  7. Most software allows you to adjust font size as desired. I have 27", 4k monitors where I have upped the font size and a 43", 4k, TV-as-monitor where I haven't needed to do that.

Today any 43" and bigger 4k TV is a good choice for monitor. If you want greater resolution, you will still need to get computer monitors. (My 3-monitor array for market charting in portrait mode is 6480x3840.) FWIW..

  8. Not in for 4k. I have just booked an 8k one. I don’t want to magnify anything.

  10. You're going to need a magnifying glass of significant power to read the text.
