Anyone trade ES/ER without Overnight Data?

Discussion in 'Data Sets and Feeds' started by Flashboy, Mar 22, 2006.

  1. Haven't posted in a while. Hope everyone is doing well..

    I've been papertrading working on some things and have noticed how often using overnight data helps keep me out of mediocre/bad trades.

    I did not like using it in the past but now seems I can't live without it..

    Anyone else have any opinions? Anyone trade without it?

    Flashb;

    For practical purposes, dont use it;
    do glance,not trade it starting about 7;00 am chicago time.

    Satisfied real time without it,except do like premarket glance;
    seldom watch postmarket/stocks either ,thats research time.

  3. Hi Flashboy,

    It's been awhile and welcome back.

    Are you saying your using charts that shows the overnight data to make trade decisions during normal trading hours or are you saying your trading the overnight trading session ???

  4. Hey Niha,

    I"m not trading the overnight session.. I am trading RTH but using a continuous chart from overnight price action.

    I find a lot of the price action from overnight is worthless but it seems to help keep me out of bad trades I may have taken in the past.

    Mostly the action leading up to the open has been most significant to me.. usually starting from 7 am EST...

    I also find when the overnight high or low holds early in the morning it can be used as a good reversal signal..
