I see a pattern: when demos have 100% control, the economy generally sucks. January 1993-January 1995 wasn't very noteable, and the Carter years weren't too good. The 'good ol days' of the 90's only happened after the republican revolution in congress that forced Clinton to the center. American socialism (aka 'fair') is a feel good political, but a miserable economic, policy.
