I agree. Velocity is very straight forward, no BS. In the broker ratings section here on ET, I wrote a positive review about Velocity in May 2004 and I'm still happy with them.
Thanks for all the replies, appreciate your insight. As I've just written in a follow up thread - http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=52959 - I'm considering a Transact / Trademaven combo if I can negotiate a good commission deal with them AND if their seems to be a conscensus of Trademaven through Transact would be able to provide executions on par with a xTrader based solution. Am still very appreciative of any further insight any of you out there has. adam
Global future is well known for the best service, but their commison structure depends on your negotiation skills (they have policy not to publish rates and rates will be custom made for each customer) and depands on your profitability and volume, as far as i know. My account opened in two days time only, very fast (with advanced future which is part of GF). I have been trading with them for several month on J-trader, and never had any issue at all.
i wouldnt touch either of them - but if forced id go with velocity. globals presence on this site just made them look mickey mouse imo. id go directly with the/a clearing firm and skip the ib altogether. your rates will always be lower, and there are less issues as there are less links in the chain if you go directly to source. why not just go to refco, seeing as thats probably who both these companies use.
velocity win hands down then. thanks for the info (think i was confusing them with transact who clear via fortis i think & have low fees)
