    I turn the ac up as I feel my breathwork brings down my body temp and makes me feel colder. or it that old age? :D

  2. I'm not sure I understand. If the breathwork brings your body temp down, then why turn up the ac? I think the extremities feel cooler during the hyperventilation, but not necessarily the core. Remember, though, I'm still just muddling through all this.

    I turn the AC up as in higher temp degrees so it shuts down or gets warmer to my higher set point.

    I feel my body gets colder when I do mine. I do other stuff, breathe of fire, continuous breathing not only win hof and not necessarily on the same session.

    @tango29 what's been your experience?

  4. I misunderstood. By "turn up" I incorrectly assumed crank up.

  5. Another thing I found of interest is that Hof has people do pushups after the breathwork. So he would have people do another round of breathing and then after the inbreath to hold and do as many pushups as possible. But I've also read where people do the pushups after the outbreath.

    Rather than pushups, I've recently started doing bodyweight squats with a breath hold, but after the outbreath. Full range, meaning going to at least parallel at the bottom of the movement and then fully up. Fast, but not at max speed as I do for a warmup before my resistance routine. (Up until now, I've only done 15 or 20 breaths before doing the squats. I should probably do the full 30.) I do 100 reps, but only held my outbreath for the first 50 when I started. Presently, I can manage 60 before having to breathe. An interesting observation: I start getting a bit woozy as I approach my limit, but I feel even woozier the moment I inhale. The wooziness diminishes i, and by the time I reach 100 reps (breathing for the remainder, of course), I'm not feeling it at all. Also, I note that after I take my inbreath after the hold, there is more...silence. So it seems that towards the end of the breath hold while doing the reps, there is static going on in my head that I don't fully appreciate until it stops. I suppose it's the result of elevated BP.

    Have any of you guys done that sort of thing with pushups or any other exercise?

    Mine was $30 +tax.
    I haven't done any exercise with the breathing. I have thought about doing it before I workout, but haven't yet.
    No consistent pattern for me temperature wise. Sometimes I feel warmer and have a slight sweat after, other my hands are as cold as when I began.
    I have meant to look up the breath of fire, do you have a source to look at it and learn more about it. The only other thing I do is regular meditation. I take roughly 20-30 minutes a day for it. I have had some fairly odd experiences with it. Every so often I get an out of body sensation, and it ends with a sudden thud sound. I have no explanation for that, but the feeling is really great.

  7. I only do it on my non-workout days.

    And on my workout days, I do the breathwork afterwards. Probably not the right way to do it, but in these here parts workouts come first on workout days. :D

  8. Presently I am thinking that maybe doing an exercise for reps while breath holding may not be such a great idea. As it is, the breathwork elevates blood pressure somewhat. Doing an exercise to “breath failure” on top of that may increase it that much more. While I actually like doing it, I don’t want to risk stroking out.

    Have you guys given this possible risk any thought?

  9. Hey, Cap'n. I tried to send you a quick note via PM just to say I wish I listened to you earlier when you suggested the WHM a while back. I got there eventually. I'm all in now. But no can do with the PM. It seems you've gone the Greta Garbo route.

  10. I finally managed a breath hold for just over 3 minutes after the outbreath at the end of the 3rd round. It will probably be a good while before I show any improvement from here, if at all.
