Oxygen went down to 66 at the end of the second breath hold, and 67 at the end of the third. Should that worry me? I feel I could have held on for at least another half minute today for both the second and third holds, but I have this thing about not dying.
I held my breath longer after the outbreaths today, about an extra 15 seconds after the first one and about 30 additional seconds after the second exhale. However, I didn't do the third round, because the oximeter reading was 46 by the end of the second breath hold (and it lags a bit!). So I freaked out a little and stopped there. Checked online and saw that someone had a 43 reading after the second round so I feel a bit better. But does that just make me a lemming? I need you guys to get one of these things. They're fairly cheap and if you're into the Wim Hof stuff, I would think it provides information you want to know. Then let's compare notes.
This person's oxygen level declined to 35 at the 3:46 mark. Although I'm sure the real number drops precipitously, I'm guessing that maybe the cooling of the extremities during the breathwork messes with the accuracy of the oximeter. Have any of you tried measuring your blood pressure during peak moments? I imagine it's not all that easy to do, but my guess is that the breathwork might cause a scary spike, however fleeting.
You'll probably want to get a better one than I have. Just looked at the fine print. It is reportedly accurate to within 2% for readings between 70 and 99. Below 70, it is "unspecified."
Hit the low 30s at around the end of the 3rd round today but, again, "unspecified" accuracy below 70.
