Anyone have positive results using Trade Ideas streaming alerts?

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by OceanViewTrader, Jul 17, 2004.

  1. Anyone want to share any success or personal set-ups using Trade Ideas real-time alerts, and on what trading platform do you have this streaming tehcnical and statistical analysis linked to?

Who else besides the equities traders uses Trade Ideas?

    Thanks.

  2. I thought it was a great site if they would have had real time charts with the alerts. As is, I got nothing out of it.

  3. I posted on a few threads that since trying this software out I have had very positive results. Hoodoo I think the whole concept is you link it to real-time charts. I have it linked to REDI Plus for execution and E Signal for charts. As I have mentioned before I don't mind sharing my set ups. These are geared to my trading style

  4. I am probably one of the few original users of this product. In fact, one of the reasons I like it so much is they were able to deliver on a custom alert I had asked them to design. The "False Gap Retracement" is worth my monthly subscription alone.

I love the new downloadable version. Much better than using a browser for separate configurations. I now use about 9 different windows. Each looking for different setups. The key filter for me is the "Relative Volume". This is REALLY important because it filters out all the low volume "noise". I don't want to see alerts on stocks that are doing normal relative. I want to see alerts of stocks doing twice their normal volume for that day only.

I have been messing around with trying to find good reversals. Say stocks that have been down at least 3 days in a row, Gapping up or down on high relative volume, and then making new highs on the day.

I could cut and paste my settings, but honestly, I have worked long and hard on these settings. They work well for me. Try our hand and making your own setting. It really is a great tool once you get the hang of asking it to show you exactly what you want.

    Happy trading

    Steve

  5. Maybe its a good thing to find something that is great at one thing and tries not to be all things to all people.

Here's how to link Trade-Ideas to any other application and its charts:

    Bolts

Pretty slick looking website. Might make people think trading is fun. :p How much do they charge after the trial period?

  7. It's $45 bucks a month

  8. OK call me crazy but these opening range breakouts are the best thing I have traded this year by far! Do others use this strategy through other software? I can't be the only one killing it today.
