Governing from the center would be a welcome change and a move to a new era following the hard right of Bush...
Americans are running as fast as they can. Running from the reality of just how bad things really are. Somehow, watching a black man taking the oath will make us all feel better, if only for a moment. We can all feel good about ourselves and that's really, REALLY important to Americans. Sadly, reality will have it's day, and right quick. This man, yes he's just a man, will have to destroy America to fix it. He will have to destroy capitalism, crush the working class with taxes, and sell the very soul of our government to foreign entities. Many will blame Bush for the calamity that is about to fall upon us, but like 9/11, the guy in office will take the heat because it'll happen on his watch. To say things are going to get worse before they get better is an under statement of the highest magnitude. Looking back we will know that these are the last of the good old days. Our country is about to change dramatically and they'll be plenty of blame and finger pointing for all to see. The rodeo has come to town, and I hate to break it to ya' Mr. Obama, but you're not the bull rider, you're the clown in the barrel.
Yes, it's overkill, IMO. All it's doing is hurting Obama by raising the bar even more so. His campaign manager, Axelrod, should be wiser about managing this affair.
In politics, the masses are always right, at least until they change their mind...and then they think they are now right...but were never wrong before, it was always the politicians who were wrong...
Another person who is in denial and believes that the media has no control over the information it presents to the masses and it expresses no bias.
I see, human beings are just computers who run the programs downloaded to them by the media who controls them...they are powerless to do otherwise in your estimation. LOL!!! You make an unsound and false argument that there has been a complete and forced abdication of personal responsibility... People have the freedom to believe what they will, they are not controlled by the media...
If the media has no effect on the masses, then why is so much money spent on advertising? You are expressing extreme naivete.
