It's awfully easy, now that Bush has kept us safe for seven years, to carp about the measures he took. Few were complaining at the time. We were lucky to have a president, flawed though he was, who had the stones to do what was needed at the time and worry about the fallout later. Let one terrorists attack take place and let's see how many people support appointing ACLU lawyers for foreign terrorists or are wringing their hands over harsh questioning.
Bush has not kept us safe, that is fallacy of a partisan... American is much farther from safe than when Bush took office... You don't even realize it yet, but if Obama abuses the power Bush has, applying the same principles to "keep us safe" it could mean further erosion of our freedom.
