Hi. I'm a trader in vancouver (Dunbar area), just discovered this thread today. Wow..had no idea so many other people are willing to wake up at 6am... Anyways, are there any plans to host another get together? If any are interested (i am one) reply to this thread or to me and we'll go for beer, coffee, whisky... Cheers and g-luck, Jer. I am ready when you guys are. A nice cold beer sounds good to me. All it takes is for someone to take the bull by the horns and organize this thing. I will check this thread for future posts. Hey bohbotski i used to live in Kits. you are in a very nice are also.
Just discovered this thread too. I am from South Surrey, work in downtown area (hell of a drive). It's really cool to see so many traders from Vancouver area
I'm down for a beer. In the West End so virtually anywhere in the core works just fine for me. We really should be taking advantage of this fabulous Outdoor Imbibing weather!
Maybe we can host something... we can all head to the Jolly Taxpayer, the Mill, or something else one Friday afternoon. What time is good... 2:30pm?! PM any suggestions you may have as to a possible location, time, & date, and then we'll arrange something in the near future.
Hi Everybody! Well, there's definitely a ton of interest in a vancouver-area trader meeting, so let's organize a time and place that's convenient for as many bulls and bears as possible... May i suggest this coming friday (march 4th) at 3pm, somewhere either downtown or on Granville Island, that is not too loud or busy. All ideas are welcome... (to start, i suggest the sushi restaurant Kamei Royale - 1030 Georgia Street East (entrance also on Alberni St.). It's nice, quiet, with large private tables, steamed hand towels, and reasonable prices for good sushi. Only downside is location, especially on a friday pm - perhaps Granville Island is better. There's a hotel at the far east corner that has a nice restaurant with a kick-ass view. All suggestions welcome... One last note - the purpose of this gathering is to meet fellow traders and exchange ideas/experiences. So, to keep the atmosphere as open and friendly as possible, i ask that NO companies or representatives of companies join us for the gathering. Only traders acting on their own behalf. This ain't no vancouver expo! Ok everybody...let's get the ball rolling! Start buying! Cheers, Jer. "Looked up to the lord above, and said "hey man, thanks"
Sorry, Jer... looks like you're mis-understanding our motives for hosting/arranging a get together, afterall, we are traders too, and we just thought it was time to arrange a time for traders to talk trading over a beer or whatever. But if you'd like to arrange the hook-up, you are welcome to, drop us a PM & then the ball's in your court.
