Anyone elses TWS platform hogging CPU ?

    More Java operations due to constrained memory. Operations take CPU cycles.

  3. i run tws on an old I5!! simultaneously with TOS AND another package

    lol, minimal issues

    plenty of open charts

    you just aint hip


    running latest standalone if thats any help

  4. Had issues today with TWS this AM. Seems to be OK this afternoon.

    It usually seems to be worst in morning. Like it can't handle the flow of data from all the tickers and charts moving with the volatility at the open

    usually sleep in so dont see the am much

    I allocate about 24 GB to TWS although it takes a while to start up (about a minute), after that it runs fine. By default, I think the memory allocation was something odd like 768 MB although that might have just been the initial max heap size...I forget.

    That's max heap size. I haven't touched memory allocation at all, it runs perfectly fine. The issues described appear to be something else, most likely connection related, I notice when there's connection issues then TWS appears to freeze.

  9. First thing I would do is to try to identify processes with high cpu usage. Then, implement security tools that list and store all processes. To get motivated please read IB privacy policy especially sentences about monitoring of systems.

    Yea the IB guys said to exactly trouble the ram allotment. Not just input a random number for me. So maybe try that first.
