I dont know if this has been addressed or not as I didn't have time to read each post on this thread, but which of the following is more effective overall?: 1) jogging/running on treadmill or, 2) walking briskly w/ treadmill set at incline? I heard a trainer at the gym say #2 is better b/c it's easier on your legs but to me it seems it doesnt work out your cardio as much. Any recommendations/opinions?

Go with #2, walking briskly w/treadmill set at an incline - especially if you're starting out/starting up again. "Briskly" would be 3 mph or more, and for at least 20-30 minutes. It's more sustainable (for most) than jogging/running, virtually just as aerobically beneficial (incline helps bigtime), and easier on the joints - especially if you're mid-30's and above. Treadmill use is great for pre-weight workout warmup and for the longer walks/jogs/runs on off-iron days. It's also a great stress dissapater after certain trading days while you shout back in deriding and correcting Cramer...
