Anyone Else Using Microsoft Spreadsheet?

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by Corso482, May 26, 2003.

  1. I somehow managed to buy two computers without Excel, so I'm stuck with Microsoft Spreadsheet.

    To make matters worse, Stockwatch Pro, which is what I use for backtesting, is severly lacking on system statistics (max dd., sharpe ratio, etc.)

    So....Does anyone know how to plug in formulas in MSFT spreadsheet for max dd. and other backtesting stats?

    Thanks for the help.

    Whats max dd and the other one you mentioned?

  3. Here's a shortcut to your problem and possibly a long term solution as well:

    1. Buy Excel (MSOFFICE)

    2. Alternatively, get Kazaa. Search--> "Office 2000" or "Office XP." Wait about an hour or so.

    Done!

  4. 1. Too cheap to pay for it.

    2. Aren't there securty measures (passwords etc.) in place?

  5. Google --> "MSoffice password."

    hope this helps.

  6. Thanks!

  7. if you are writing your macros anyway, why not take a look at

    http://www.openoffice.org/

    it certainly reads/writes excel files all right
