A friend of mine changes parking places based upon his performance. If he had a bad day, he parks in a different spot, If he had a good day and wore a ball cap, he wears that ball cap every day until he has a losing day. . As for me, I believe I make my own luck. Through hard work, perseverence, and solid research. That being said, I'd rather be lucky than good.
I have a visceral supersitition - that when I hold a 'loser' that begins to make me uncomfortable (the proverbial 'pain in the back'), particularly overnight, that other market participants, somehow, gain specific knowledge of that position and gun for it. Of course in that case my only option is to exit. I've found it to be a healthy fear, or superstition to have, and I nurture it.
