  3. Well, let me say why I said what I did. Many US exporters are already doing incredibly well because of the falling dollar. If the dollar drops another 20-30%, then imo this will have a drastic effect on our exports. We will almost overnight become an exporting powerhouse which is what an economy like ours was born to do. There is no country that can compete with us in terms of innovation and creativity and that should make us export kings.

But as long as China and other countries artificially prop up the dollar, it ain't gonna happen.

We are already seeing this happen, btw, due to the falling dollar:

  4. Yes, but I think an important point is that even America's percentage of the consumer pie is shrinking. We are increasingly becoming less relevant and that trend will continue for decades to come. You have to be able to carry your argument out 20, 30, 40 years...

Plus, we are really kidding ourselves if we think that we can live without the low cost global provider on anything. That kind of thinking will destroy our economy.

No, I don't think we should take lead-tainted toys. But the bottom line is that any country that ignores China, India and the other rising economies will not be able to compete.

Would we all be speaking Arabic now?

  9. I just read Ron Pauls positions on wikipedia.

All I can say is, if the US constitution was a living breathing person who could vote, he/she would obviously vote for Ron Paul.

The only negative I saw anywhere was his position on abortion.

Now if only enough people would realize that they are not throwing away votes by voting outside of your typical democrat/republican lines, a guy like this could give us a much needed shake up.

The only way to guarantee throwing away your vote is to vote for the same old two party shit that has been slowly murdering our country.

  10. The support for Ron Paul on the internet and these shills who promote him is scary. Ron Paul is the classic demagogue, and his cult following of conspiracy theorist and doomsayer over the internet is similar to a Howard Stern gubernatorial campaign.
Amazing how no one mentions Mr.Paul's opposition to the civil rights act 1964 or, his blatantly racist views on the LA riots.

Why don't we nominate Lou Dobbs for president or any other sensationalist out there we can find. And no, this is not a partisan viewpoint just honest opinion based on fact.
