"electoral college" system was set up because the founding fathers of America thought that the Average citizen does not know enough to vote responsibly You make it sound like those wise men were wrong. They were right and are still right today.
You haven't a clue. The US is oft cited as the "worlds economic engine". Know why? Because IT IS. The US imports far more than it exports. The American penchant for cheap overseas shit DRIVES the global economy. A devalued dollar only makes imports more expensive and increases inflationary pressure at home. This means we buy less foreign goods and adds fodder for a rate hike. The US economy was a Power House long before Globalism ever came on the scene. And under Libertarian Stewardship, can remain a Giant long after Globalism is gone. The American consumer is so wealthy and the national economic base so large, homegrown demand can feed US growth into perpetuity. We don't need cheap Chinese shit. If American firms had mechanized instead of outsourced, we'd have the cheapest shit in the world and be NET EXPORTERS.
The fact that that idiot Stock_trad3r thinks Ron Paul is a fool should speak volumes to everyone about him.
The Fed might have the best of intentions but they will destroy the economy with a hyperinflationary spiral if they keep doing what they are doing. History is filled with failed empires and economic catastrophes caused by goverments attempting to finance budget and trade deficits through the inflation tax.
The US became a Power House thanks to the founding fathers policies and legal system which are being taken away by neocons and democrats. Ron Paul wants to reinstate the libertarian laws and policies that made America so great to begin with.
I like this guy, Ron Paul. Refreshingly nutty sometimes. Were he to be elected however, i think he would have a terrible time trying to get the cooperation of Congress in pushing through his programs . Don't know who i'll vote for because i don't know who the candidates will be, but if Ron Paul should by some miracle get the Republican nomination he will get votes. How would he deal with social security? I know his position on the medical care system, and it is virtually the same as my own.
He is not an isolationist. He is a non-interventionist. Huge difference. He addresses that issue here at 4:35 mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGFyh92HoCU
