could someone who is a lot smarter than me explain what just happened? $hit suction, spooz rally and we rally strong I know 3.75 yield was hit in tens and there was a bounce but come on!
Got me, I was scaling in short all the way up only to finally puke near the top of that post auction rally. Figures. I really need to stop thinking about what "should" happen and just trade what does happen.
as spooz are trading thousands of cars down why fixed income paper does not let ZN get over 108.075 and ZB get over 117.26 is beyond my understanding bought ZB at 17 and 18 area and waiting for a pop that does not happen this trade is f#cked up bigtime! Then it comes right back to you quickly after an hour or so grind - brutal trade.
Steepening everywhere... No matter what happens, front end is bid, belly of the curve has no friends. It's the pain trade du jour.
I can see the steepening it is so slow and brutal since I trade the long end primarily it is so boring. I sat in a trade for an hour to make 6 ticks.
You made money and you're complaining? There's no pleasing young people these days . It hasn't been pretty these past few days in the mkt...
I asked some time back where all the depth on the bonds went, back when it was 25-30 at the halves - now that we are back on the full tick - where is all the depth coming from. Seems to be a lot of depth but no real change in volume. Ideas?? Thanks, Chris
lots of algos and paper is back trading - citadel, goldman, etc... 3.75 yield tested and bounced a couple of days ago now through where we go next who knows. Just don't get in the way, 76K ZN traded in 4 minutes (10:04am to 10:06am) big boys are back. Also lots of spreaders back even though some spreads are not moving that much lots of churn in spreads. The size I see trading at certain price points is incredible like years ago. Volume question is interesting the other day over 1million ZN traded that is a lot today sitting at 759K at 10:15 am that is lot more than 6months ago where 400K would trade some days are lighter than others but when the curve finally flattens it will be ugly. Bond vols are going up as well.
