Anybody else short US 30 Bond

  1. Looking for books on trading bond futures??? good luck! The only one I've ever found is price Action Trading by Bill Eykyn - but be warned its a paperback, its thin and its $120. It has good info about trading times and price patterns but basically its a buy support and sell resistance journal. Honestly trading bonds is just about screen time - the more you put in the more you recognize price exhaustion at key levels. Someone said trading bond futures was hard, but I've found it to be the easiest vehicle that I've ever traded. Just trade between the ranges and don't sweat the big breakouts (I never catch em).

  2. Correct me; if I am wrong. Today; both ZN and ZB have awful amount of volume which I can't remember the last time they have traded with such high volume, could be a record day.

  3. Could that mean we are at or near a medium-turn bottom?

  4. Volume bugs the crap out of me.

You need to add all contracts to get the total volume. Just the June volume was not the highest volume but if you add the September you might get quite high.

I have not found a reliable method to trade volume. Some time ago I lost some good $$$ not exiting a move against me because it was on a low volume. It kept going and going and going on low volume. There was no interest but never the less the price kept going and going. Since then I try to avoid the volume.

Let me know if there is an easy method to trade volume.

  5. Increasing your time frame, daily chart over 6 months helps.

  7. Very treacherous market to be in as others have observerd. It seems we sold off a little too much just prior to the 1000 hrs report and the reaction at 1000 hrs was minimal at best, i.e no further selling but not much buying either.

My best guess is one test of the highs before the day is over but it may be half-hearted, i.e. only up to 117 300.

  8. I would bracket the day around:

    118 040

    and

    117 160

  9. the futures are calm compared to cash. the cash in on tilt ten year that is,moved a handle up (32 ticks) and a 18 ticks down that is 312.50 per 1 lot per tick grab your ankles and bend over
17 to 14 is important in zn right now

  10. I would love to buy now at 117 220 which I'm showing as the MP POC. However, my fairly strong pivots show a possible low of 117 160 which is too far away at the moment for this weak action we've had since 1000 hrs EST.
