looks like supply trumps QE for now. we'll see what these f$ckers say tomorrow and what GDP is. They don't want the ten yr to go past 3% too much
delicate point here. * tsy funding announcement tomorrow (bigger numbers than expected?) * GDP (less bad than expected?) * FOMC statement (will they point to aim of keeping (long) rates down to allow easy mortgage refinancing?) i think if we are down tomorrow there is a good chance that we will see massive selloff soon. but i guess ben is well aware of that - this would kill equities (and economic recovery... play at your peril...
ZN is dog-$hit now, I moved back into the 30yr a while ago, found it too hard to get involved - unless I wanted to get picked up on crap trades then completely traded through, anything half decent and there's not enough two-way order flow to get decent fills, at least in ZB there's some over-runs which keeps you going through the lean periods, most of the ZN traders in my office have abandoned it for pastures new.....hence the great volume it now does !!
right after fomc, the ten year market was locked up 1000 bid by 1000 offer at the same price, (around the low of the move). Anyone know what that was?
don't know but was amazed at the 29K that traded down a point, I guess the fed will allow rates to creep up as long as the stock market is off the lows, 3.25% ten year here we come? Bond cash rallied up to 4% and failed that was interesting.
I believe it was a function of Globex. It looked like someone put in a huge market sell order but Globex will only allow market with protection which is 15 ticks for ZN. The order will stay offered at the 15 tick mark until bids come in. I think the market may pause temporarily when this happens so the bids can be entered.
Now is FINALLY the time to short ZN! It's beginning to breakdown on the downside. good to short and continue to short all the way down. Mark my words. been waiting for this moment for a long time. trader99
