If you have a multiple entry visitor's visa you can basically live in the U.S. (you have to go out every six months for a couple of weeks or something), but not allowed to take a job. Don't know if it changed since 9/11.
PDT rules do not apply the Canadian broker told me. PDT is an American government (SEC) law to protect U.S. citizens. Foreign countries make their own laws and none of them have anything like PDT to my knowledge.
windsor, ontario here pdt rules apply even if you are canadian and if your using one of the brokers whose clearing house deals in usa. Like IB, they said PDT rules applied.
