To introduce myself. I am a software engineer with over 7 years of experience in developing java applications. I was involved in building high speed multithreaded applications since beginning of my carrier. I do have a solid understanding of the stock market, but not in such a dept to be able to develop good, solid trading strategies.
I am looking for a broker/trader that has some ideas about high speed trading but never had a chance to implement such because of the complexity and inability to create high performance/ speed algorithms to achieve that. So, basically somebody that worked at the firms and knows how money can be made using high-speed algorithmic applications. I am not looking to reinvent a wheel. Instead I want to implement strategy that’s already proven to work, with minimum risk (if there is such a thing).
I do have an idea and knowledge how to architect, develop and deploy such high-speed applications that could successfully compete against all other algorithmic programs in the game.
If you are interested, please be serious. I am not looking for a trader that trades here and there, and has some “ideas”. If you are “occasional” trader, please do not waist my and your time. I do not want to sound harsh, but I am a busy individual as lot of other people are, and do not have time to waist.
In order to squeeze maximum possible speed out of the algorithmic application and to lower latency, we would have to place servers in close proximity of CME or/and NYSE. As I live on the west coast, I would prefer somebody that lives close to those two locations, if some physical interaction with servers is required.
If you are interested and think that software engineer and trader/broker would be a good fit, please feel free to ask questions in this thread, or to contact me directly.
    Thanks, and happy trading everyone!

  2. You're wasting your time here on ET 95% of the savvy traders here think algo/HF trading is automating trades with MT4, Ninja Trader or sending a 100 trades a day with IB's api's :)

    Best of luck!

  3. You are wasting your time.

People here are interested in trying to figure out how to beat a bum tossing a coin. The OP of that thread considers that cutting edge.

    Thanks adrock1795!
It looks like the forum you suggested is the better choice.

    I'll try that.
