The Circumvesuviana is the worst train ever. You might as well go to Kandahar. Just watch out when you go around, don't take valuable things with you, and know where you are going. The pictures you posted about Sulmona are mostly from the region of the national park, which is not bad. I would still go there in the winter to ski. Although, if I could choose, I would go to the Alps. By the way, concerning lake Como.
