Depends on where, I guess. This is a small villa close to Tropea, a very turistic place. It costs (well, I should say they ask ) 350k (euros): http://www.tropea.biz/appartamenti/promos/villa-vicinaze-tropea.htm On the other side Locri, a place well known for some not so nice events, is probably cheaper.
I've never been to Tropea, but I heard it's nice. Some places in Calabria are really nice. That's the price they are asking. I'm not sure it's realistic For example: http://205.188.238.109/time/europe/magazine/article/0,13005,901051031-1121979-1,00.html
A cheap house from Sardinia: http://www.housearounditaly.com/com...69657726616d703b6c697374696e6749443d31353037/
It's on the mountains and "in need of modernisation and cosmetic finishing to the exterior". Sardinia is beautiful, but I'm not sure that's a great place. I personally liked a lot this place: http://www.italiantourism.com/island2a.html I've been there a few times, although it's now 10 years ago. I think it's awesome, at least in the summer. In the winter it's probably a bit boring. And here you can see the difference: http://www.sassari.cazar.it/casa_vendita.php?a=364 a small, new 45 m2 house with an external parking place costs 175000. They actually sell more of those for between 2800 and 3800 per m2
I can't understand why you all that organised crime in Italy. Why can't you beat the gangsters and destroy them? You don't see any other Western Europe countries with such powerful criminal gangs.
Because of the same reason you can't win the war in Iraq. You can't fight a hidden enemy, especially when family is a key factor.
The real heads of the organized crime are not in the south, but in Rome. Most of them are high-level politicians with too many connections.
I think so, yes. I think this is true for many places in Sardinia. In particular, if you go to La Maddalena, a boat is very helpful as well.
