  1. I don't really know the reason(s) for that, but I'd say that Sicily isn't as centered as Sardegna is and this is usually a good reason.

When I think of all these poor guys from Sardegna who came to Switzerland in the 50s and would have sold you their lands there for almost nothing. Raging

  2. Switzerland - that's expensive (as I remember)? I love the mountains, but some of the towns are a litte boring (I spend a whole Sunday in Bern!).

  3. Expensive ? Yes, you can say that. But EU countries are converging towards our prices.

Not surprised you got bored in Bern :D

    Good day Gents,

Speaking of expensive prices in Europe, I would venture to say that most things are 40% less expensive here in Canada than items in Europe.
Now that we are on the subject of Italy, do you know that it costs half the price (in the grocery store) here to buy something that comes from Italy. What I mean is; what ever you see in the store in Italy (that is made there) here it is almost half that price.
That is astonishing to me. Oh, by the way a liter of gas here is around 75 cents (CND) a liter.
    Cheers

  5. Do you have a 'bio' agriculture and is the quality and taste of fresh products at the italian level ? If yes, then Canada is a really good deal. But if it's to eat products full of insecticide, growth hormones and antibiotics, not for me :)

If it were only for me, gas would be 5 euros a liter and cigarettes would cost 30 euros...

    Hi science Trader,

I just wanted to give everyone a small ideas of costs, I really do not want to get into this too deep (what I mean I do not want to start a big justifying exercise). By the way, please do not think that Canada is a perfect place to live by the way, and that was not my intention.
Getting back to the Agro thing, they are the same products produced there, the pasta, parmigiano Reggiano, proscutto di Parma, olive oil, (no it is not diluted we are not that stupid, lol)
Ok, I know the answer to this also......Italy, France, Spain.....have a huge export subsidy for agricultural products, that is why we benefit from that. I am sure it can not last much longer with the Euro being so high compared to the Canadian dollar.
    Cheers,

  7. (no it is not diluted we are not that stupid, lol)

    I love that one :D

Very often you think you're eating something and you discover it's something else. I'm always really surprised to see what taste the Gruyeres cheese has....and not that far from Switzerland : in France.

One day in NYC I've seen the 'official swiss navy knife' for sale. Till then, I didn't know there was a navy in Switzerland :D :D :D

By the way, if you have a corkscrew on your swiss army knife, it's not a 'swiss army' knife...although having a corkscrew on the knife is a real plus !

  10. Yes, but no culture - no theater, no opera, no music. And where are the pretty girls?
