  2. Many wonderful opportunities overseas.

Chile is a beautiful country with plentiful opportunities.

I disagree with the notion "where you are" is best for opportunities.

To find these opportunities You need to be much tougher stuff though than a mere computer jockey.

A good (high school) friend of mine's father made a fortune bringing a "common in America but not here" type business overseas. A relative made a fortune doing much the same thing in another industry, in this case importing local specialty ( fruit) agriculture back to the USA.

At the moment one of my best friends is overseas looking for product to import back to the USA for his thriving business.

Countries that have been stagnant/socialist that are in the process of liberalization (Make sure they are not mob run, obviously do your research) offer wonderful opportunities for the entrepreneurial expat to make a fortune.

  8. I'm going to share with all of you the best kept secret in the world. Seriously. The BEST place to go expating is:
    SINAI.
None of you have heard of it because you are all products of the American imperialist system which is designed to produce ignorant sheeple. Heck you don't even know what real music is because all the American stations play is rap. But I digress :)
    Back to Sinai. Amazing because:
    1) though not like 10 years ago, it is still relatively cheap
    2) one of the best diving spots in the world
    3) sensational beaches
    4) tons of hot tourists year round (mostly German and Scandinavian blondes)
    5) reasonable infrastructure
    6) you can be Mubarak's neighbor (he is there since leaving Egypt)
I have read all the threads on expating and always kept the secret to myself, but I just let the cat out of the bag.
    Say thank you.
*** Caveat: I have no experience with the international banking situation.
*** Caveat 2: For those of you don't like Arabs (no shame in that) most of the ones in the area are Egyptian Bedouins, a totally different type. Think of them as the Rastafarians of the Islamic world. No joke.

  9. Ha-ha. Funny.
But what does me making money have to do with the US, the sheeple mentality, or the terrible music that gets airplay?

  10. I don't live in the USA. But thanks for your concern :)
And the idea? Well, it sucks.
