Any position traders out there?

  1. Are there any position traders out there?
3-24 month time horizons using fundamental and technical analysis.
Trading stocks, options, commodities, ETFs, Indexes...

    Would love to exchange ideas...

  2. 3-24 months sounds like trend following to me. Position trading is for me 2 to 10 days max.

For me, a long term investment is overnight

    :)

  4. What kind of ideas are you talking about?

I'm still working on developing a method that sort of ressembles the Oliver Velez swing trading style although my entry points would be different. Well, my profit targets and stops would be different as well. I'm still working on those.

After looking at a lot of things for the last 18 months I decided the markets that interest me the most are the S&P 500 and the EUR/JPY. You can search my last posts to see how I summarized a lot of my work.

  5. Depends on the trade, but yes I do classic trend following and stay in a trend for several months (given that I'm not being stopped out). Main instruments are stock indices and currencies. 24 months sounds more like buy and hope investing, though. And I agree with intradaybill: I would also categorize position trading as holding a few hours to days only.

Yes, I trade some longer time horizons with part of my stash. PM me if you like.
