  2. I was making way too much trading. Just a couple of weeks ago, I turned $800 into over 350 million. Unfortunately, the SEC got a little suspicious of my 127 profitable trades in a row, so I had to come up with something fast. However, being a little high at the time, my mind went a little too creative and I told them I was from the future, sometime around 2250ish -- give or take some years due to the calender change.

  4. I made just under 130K last year with a 50K acct. That was higher than usual because of two big winners I had last summer. Usually I'm in the 80-100K range. Decent but not stellar. Three weeks ago I decided to up the ante to 200K. Now I am just looking for a 50% annual gain instead of 150% or better.

Unfortunately I put it all on AMR at 3. It is 1.58 now. But it will be back, I'm sure of it. I'm still holding MSFT at 98, CSCO at 80, and SUNW at 75. I figure a couple of good quarters and those stocks will pop right back up and I can get out. Right?

I'm surprised there are so few traders that have made over a million in a year. With a sample of 16,000 and 1% of the general population having a net worth over a mill., that would imply at least 160 millionaires on this board. Because of the way trading works, I would have expected to see at least 300 or more traders that made at least a mill. in their best year.

  10. Just a note. I really find that hard to believe from a trader unless you are working at a hedge fund or large trading firm with loads of capital. Judging from my experience on the floor and at a leverage trading firm, very few traders made over a mil a year(less than 5%). Keep in mind you can't compare what a doctor, lawyer or other professionals earn to a trader trading his own capital. Our best guy at Lieber & Weissman turned $15,000 into 1.75 million in a year, but he was exceptional ,had an auto-ex with NITE and was trading in a great trading market.
