Probably would be more productive for the two of you than having every Tom, dickhead, and Harry chime in on it in public. I sometimes scroll up to check the address bar to make sure I really am at a trading forum.
That's fine. BTW, now that you got my curiosity piqued, how did you find him? Speaking of which, I remember this guy on ET around 2008-2009 (can't remember his name) who traded something like the Skype trader. When everyone thought the trend was over, he kept on buying and buying and buying. He literally cleaned house. He would also catch the falling knife, calling the bottom to a T. Understandably, everyone hated him.
Yes, there are guys like that out there, in spite of all the skepticism that I'm starting to see in this thread...From the small sample size of trades that Eddie mentioned back in late August, I did see some commonality in the s/r in cash SPX...very aggressively fading re-touches of broken support or buying aggressively at re-tests of new support...There was one trade that didn't fit that criteria, but otherwise I could clearly see the logic at work...OTOH, 90% of traders would be psychologically unprepared to trade that way, which is why I think it can work so well...it's very similar to what Max E. Pad has been talking about in our other thread..i.e. aggressively trading at s/r levels.
What you have just described is price action. In other word, a pure TA through and through. But, wait, I thought the guy looks down on TA.
Yeah, but I think the difference is that most guys are very reactive to what's in front of them (i.e. 1-min, 360-tick charts, etc, etc...) and they will try and trade trendline breaks, s-t reversals, etc...whereas someone who is hyper-focused on major support and resistance will probably fade some of the areas that the s-t chasers will trap themselves...like I said, though, there was one trade that did not fit the above criteria and it was a near perfect entry, so who knows exactly what he is doing...but there were are a few that I could definitely spot.
Jumping late into this party, but I have seen enough of the calls that Eddie has made in real time that were his Skype guy's, and I too marked them on my chart. Heck... I even uploaded one of the charts in that thread, trying to figure out if he was using S/R or trendlines. So to whoever has doubts, I'm throwing in my 2 cents for whatever my credibility is worth that this was done in real time and the trades that I saw, at least 6 or 7, all were profitable. The beauty of this trading forum is that you can still go back and see the posts that Eddie has made, see the calls with time stamps, and plot them yourself on the chart if you so wanted to. As for this post here, I really don't see what business zbestoch has for telling Eddie and schizo that they can't discuss it here. This was a thread started by Eddie for god sakes, and I would love to be able to learn from and participate in the ensuing discussion. How on earth can zbestoch actually knock talking about trades marked on a chart as being something that shouldn't be a trading forum? Its true that making it public might get too many yahoos commenting, but I think the discussion would finally actually be a discussion about trading, you know, talking about actual real trades on a trading forum.
As a follow-up, I found my posts where I showed the charts. Look here and here http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?threads/did-sla-ever-work.293932/page-6#post-4171726 http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?threads/did-sla-ever-work.293932/page-8#post-4172008 Also, @NoDoji made this interesting post about those trades, suggesting that she knows what he is doing. http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?threads/did-sla-ever-work.293932/page-8#post-4172001 So @schizo, if you'd like to comment... be my guest as I'd love to see a discussion. We can't seem to be able to make NoDoji spill the beans.
A chart with only a single entry is not very helpful. In order for me to decipher an "underlying pattern", I need to see more...a lot more. With regards to NoD's comment about contextual pivot levels, yes they play a crucial role, especially when tied in with S/R and Trendlines. But she might be in touch with ET. Her level of understanding is way beyond my earthly comprehension. BTW your trendline is not drawn correctly. See the attached image. As you can see from the chart, IT IS WITHIN THE TRENDLINE.
Charts are on their way, Schizo. I uploaded a few of the live calls I made in various threads that were based on his calls. Even though I know KP and a few others saw these in realtime, it'll hopefully shut up the doubters who think i'm just making it all up and who aren't aware of my posting history! lol (http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?threads/frustrating-friday.293755/page-8#post-4173493) http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index...ugglers-out-there.285900/page-31#post-4183323 http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?threads/es-journal-2015.288816/page-420#post-4177842 http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?threads/es-journal-2015.288816/page-427#post-4187281 ....... etc etc
