Any long term strugglers out there?

  1. Given back pretty much all of my winnings, so it's been another wasted month or so. (Still, what's one month out of 5+ years! :))
    Lost a few K today which the girlfriend is not happy about! (Promised to take her out tonight after the close, but instead blew it off and just been going through charts for the last 2.5 hours)
    The last few days, every single trade setup seems to have been stopping me out.

    Price action trading really doesn't seem to work, so i'm looking to change some things.
    I'm thinking of going back to indicators/moving averages etc. Not really looked at them for a few years as i've been trying to trade 'naked' as i've seen suggested most often.

    The 'skype guy' made over 35 ES points today, (shorted the globex for 20 points and then somehow picked the low for another 15) but my skype was playing up and so didn't get to copy him on any of them which is a double kick in the teeth as it would have made a massive chunk of my losses back!

    I'm probably gonna stop trading the FDAX and just stick with the ES going forward.

    Setups etc aren't as important as you maybe thinking. You just define a trend and go with it.

    Wanna know what is important though? Position size. You need to have more money riding on your 'good' and less money on your 'bad'.

    “I’ve learned many things from [George Soros] but perhaps the most significant is that it’s not whether you’re right or wrong that’s important, but how much money you make when you’re right and how much you lose when you’re wrong.”

  4. Easier said than done. You don't know whats good or bad until things unfold. Are you suggesting adding to winners? If so, I am not a fan of this approach. I position equally and target 1:2 R/R ratios. Just offering my opinion to OP. Not slamming methods here. There are a million ways to skin a cat

    There are indeed a million (unlimited) ways to approach skinning a cat

    The actual skinning (extraction of money on a consistent basis) - there are a very..., very..., limited - few

    ==========================

    On another note:

    Trading is such a hoot

    Many aspects counter intuitive

    Many aspects diametrically opposed - yet dependent upon.., and absolutely necessary - to each other

    Yet all must work in unison..., and in complete harmony - within us

    Repeatedly..., and Consistently

    ===============

    I understand why many don't get it...., hell..., for what seemed the longest time I didn't get it

    But once you do (assuming you stick it out - and rework yourself to be able)

    At journey's end lies .....

    ==========================

    What..., and spoil your journey

    It would be grossly inappropriate of me..., to do so

    Suffice to say: it is here..., waiting on Ya

    So get the hell out of your own way - and come lay claim to it

    ====================

    And now for something totally different (monty python - esq)

    It Friday... Get R Done

    Then.., let's all have a great weekend
