You say you are 'attempting' to follow your plan. This is a red flag to me. The thing with trading is that we are the only ones who control when we get in and when we get out nobody else, that's part of the attraction. If you cannot control yourself and follow your plan then you have little or no chance of making it imo. I speak from experience as I was once in your position. I think you need to do a lot more work on your psychology and mindset. You need to find out why you cannot follow a plan. Possibly this is due to fear (loss, FOMO, failure) or it could be down to core beliefs that are self sabotaging you. What helped me was to work much more on my psychology and take far fewer trades. Taking fewer trades will allow you more time to think about your mindset and avoid taking trades out of fear or euphoria. You should also only demo trade until you are sure of your edge. Have a think about your own 'prime' setups, then go to work on creating your edge from these prime setups only. You could end up being vastly more profitable taking 1 trade per day than someone who trades 20-30 times per day. GL
not sure how i'd describe the current 'environment' in the dax, but it's certainly been an awful few days for my method. Down 90 points today. Amazing how a method can have a 100% hit rate on 15 trades one day, and then lose 12 trades in a row the next day. Sticking with being disciplined and following the rules of the system and see how we get on tomorrow
so still in profit, but after 2 very bad days, not looking as good as we were. After 2 bad days, I imagine i'm due a good day as market conditions tend to change every few days. I don't know what 'environment' we're in at the moment, and I certainly don't know how to know in advance whether the environment is going to be a goo one for my system, but i'm expecting tomorrow or the next day to be a good day and get the account back nearer to where it was. We'll see. I'll stick with being disciplined and following the plan and taking the signals like an emotionless robot
Did u really do 62 trades in one day? You must be a machine! Have a look at londonkid's trades...14 trades for the whole week...excellent profit at the end of the week, which incidentally is how you should be measuring your results i.e. on a weekly basis and not daily. http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?threads/trader-pnl-2015.289576/page-7#post-4176617
Not a good start. 2 losing Dax trades so far this morning. Looked to be in a strong uptrend. Tried 2 longs, but both stopped. Looks to be turning down now, so looking for a short. Anyone here trade the Dax from charts/TA out of interest?
